Purdue Research Park-based firm to develop web-based software for industrial users

NEW ALBANY, Ind. – A southern Indiana technology company that provides utility and enterprise management software will focus its enhanced software platform program on large industrial and multisite clients after completing a second round of funding.

Officials with Energy Management Solutions LLC, based in the Purdue Research Park of Southeast Indiana, announced that the internal funding will provide increased support for product development and marketing initiatives geared toward large industry.

“This round of funding coincides with a renewed focus on the industrial market and the development of an enhanced software platform for large enterprises,” said Hershel (Ed) Fancher, president. “We are currently developing a web-based version of UtilityRecon that will provide an enterprise-wide solution for large industrial users.”

The web-based version of UtilityRecon® will incorporate advanced utility analysis tools, continuous process and equipment monitoring, advanced graphics, facility management tools and the ability to integrate with enterprise resource planning systems.

Fancher said he and his colleagues gained a greater understanding of the utility monitoring market and the various market segments during the company’s initial year of operations.

“We quickly learned that the UtilityRecon platform had a significant advantage for large industrial clients or enterprises with multiple locations and complex operations,” he said. “We have always maintained an open architecture for our software platform, allowing it to manage and analyze any continuous process data, not just utility data. Utility data alone provides only a partial image of the facility’s actual enterprise landscape. It only becomes relevant when evaluated with accurate operations or enterprise data.”

Fancher said the new version of the software will be released mid-2012 and will coincide with a rebranding initiative that emphasizes a focus on the industrial market.
